Berber culture retreat
Dates coming soon

We are getting so many questions about Villa X, and why we love this little spot in the World so much. “is it just surfing and yoga all the time?” Oh no! It’s so much more!

We came for the surfing when we first came here, and it really is the perfect place to find good waves alle year, but we kept coming back for the unique atmosphere and the simple friendly lifestyle that you will find here.

We have put together this little introduction to the area and the Moroccan culture to give you a chance to meet some amazing people and show you why this is our favourite place!

We will show you the historical traces that can be found underneath the waves of a popuar surfspot. We will take you to Agadir souk as well as our local souk in Banana Village. But we will also take you backstage to show you how the Moroccan treasures are made.
We will visit local collaboratives that make traditional Berber carpets and argan oil products. And we will recommend our best local shops where you can make a real bargain.

We want to take you hiking in Paradise Valley in the beautiful Anti Atlas Mountains. Our friend Youssef from Amazigh Hike and Yoga was born there, and knows the area like his own back pocket. He has agreed to take us on a hike on the road less travelled and tell us about the local customs, traditions, vegetation and best place to swim in the natural swimming pools.

We are invited for a nice homecooked lunch in the home of a local berber family.

Another amazing ambassador for sharing the local Berber history and culture is Brahim. He has created the first Berber museum in the area and he owns the most beautiful garden in Alma.
We have put together a day to excite your senses. We will start by visiting the museum and then head for the souk. Here we will buy all the ingredients needed to cook a traditional homemade tagine.
Then we will head to the garden where we will learn about the Moroccan tea ceremony and the tradition of henna and most importantly – the loveliest Berber women, who will share their secrets and their favorite spices with us, will guide us through a cooking class.
We are going to take a beautiful roadtrip up the coast to visit the UNESCO World heritage site Essaouira. Essaouira is a beautiful and very well preserved fortified city on the atlantic coast.

We will have a walk through the city centre and se the city walls the harbour and the souk. You will have free time to explore the labyrinth of streets, enjoy the view from the walls and find a nice spot to have lunch. We will meet you for dinner at a local restaurant before we head home along the coastline.

Throughout the week you will have plenty of free time to explore the area and take advantage of it’s many opportunities like surfing, shopping, the endless beaches or relax with a book on the rooftop or get a hamam or massage.

We live right in the heart of Tamraght, a small village with laid-back atmosphere and warm loving people. The villa is 5 minutes from the beach and 2 minutes from local cafes and shops.

We have chill out areas, workspaces and little quiet corners inside and out, and you can catch the most amazing sunsets from our rooftop. The ideal place to make new friends and great new memories.
