Tamraght village

Our village is home. For a lot of the local berber community working in Aourir, Agadir or Taghazout, Tamraght is where they live with their families. And this is where you will live too.

Villa X is located in downtown Tamraght at the foot of the mountain, close to shops and cafes and a short walk to the beach and great local surf spots. It is a little less defined by tourism than the more famous Taghazout and a lot more authentic, if you ask us.

We have no adresses and streetnames, so we made the little map below, to help our guests find their way around the village. It keeps changing all the time though, so getting lost and finding new shops is not a bad idea.

Our street is very quiet, but the next street has great little convenient shops for water, candy, an extra toothbrush or what you migt need. We love the two Brahims shops at the top and bottom af the hill, They have everything you need . Next to Brahim's down is the teleboutiqe where you can get bustickets. And across is Kisslaz cafe owned by our Darija teacher Ilham and her husband Othman, they have amazing homeccooked food at very good prices.

You will also find the famous Maroc'n roll surf shop on the same street, Youssef has great surf apparel and you can also find him on the beaches in his very yellow van.

In the opposite direction from our house you will find a number of cafés. Up the hill are three in a row: Let's be has beautiful organic food, Manouché has delicious Lebanese food and Adams café has live music on fridays,

A little further up the hill is Daydream the most beautiful little shop where you could easily spend all your money. Brianne also has really good coffee and a nice terasse to sit in the shade.. Another coffee favourite is Hey Yallah! - you have to walk all the way up the mountain and past the mosque, but it is well worth the walk for the best coffee in town and really nice workshops and events - every sunday is the CoolShe market where the local female owned brands come by and give you the opportunity to make a unique purchase.

Close to the main road is Babakoul. Everyones favourite hangout spot. You can be sure to meet someone you know at Babakoul. Maybe your surfinstructor or an old friend. You have to try their smoothies with avocado, dates and almonds - they are amazing!

Next to Babakoul you will find the bakery, they have bread, msmen, cakes an pastry always fresh and very cheap!

Along the mainroad you will also find the Pharmacy, the money exchange, a great sushi restaurant, Timam du chef - for amazing tacos and great pizza and our little egg man who serves berber omelets and very cheap nusnus..

A faboulus new addition in Tamraght is the new Africa gasstation - inside the Mini Brahim shop they also have an ATM so you can get cash out! And they make delicious tagines too.
